Public schools are ones that are paid for by the state and taxes. While private schools mean those that run on their own financial resources in addition to the tuition fees the parents pay to allow their children to attend. Private schools are not required comply with the same guidelines and rules similar to public schools.
The government estimates that roughly 10% of students go to private schools. It’s around 5.1 million students. An analysis from 2016 revealed that 76 percent of these schools have some form of religious affiliation. This means they are not subject to government guidelines However, they do adhere to the teachings of their religion and can result in more strict dress codes, language rules, etc.
It is important to keep in mind that the vast majority of these students are white. those who are not white make up around 10 percent.
